Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transit (DRPT) – This branch of Virginia State government reports to the Secretary of Transportation and works to facilitate and improve the mobility of citizens and goods in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner. DRPT performs statewide transportation studies (including feasibility and environmental impacts) and provides leadership, advocacy, technical assistance, and funding to transportation agencies throughout the state.
Virginia Transit Association – The Virginia Transit Association is a coalition providing public educations and legislative advocacy for public transportation systems throughout the Commonwealth. Members include transit systems, businesses, local government, advocacy organizations, and individuals.
Community Transportation Association of Virginia – The Community Transportation Association of Virginia is a membership organization for transportation providers in the commonwealth. Member services include training, peer-to-peer networking, and legislative assistance. CTAV also assists with the annual Virginia State Paratransit ROADEO and organizes an annual industry conference and expo.
Charlottesville Area Transit – Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) operates as a government department of the City of Charlottesville and provides public transportation services to the city and urbanized parts of surrounding Albemarle County. JAUNT is a funding sub-recipient of CAT and operates paratransit services on CAT’s behalf.
University Transit Service – University Transit Service (UTS) is a fare-free transit service provided by the University of Virginia Department of Parking and Transportation. UTS works to provide safe, reliable, efficient, and friendly transit service to University of Virginia students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
